Nederland, Noord-Holland, HilversumDevelopment & Technology

We are looking for a highly engaged User Experience Designer to design NEP’s TFC Broadcast Control platform to provide world championships with unprecedented flexibility across broadcasting centers worldwide. This platform will radically change broadcasting capabilities for NEP and their customers, driving a wealth of new opportunities thanks to its flexible and powerful capabilities to control broadcasting events from and to anywhere in the world.

You will work for leading global brands; consult our showcase for an impression.

The challenge

As UX Designer at NEP you will be responsible for an excellent user journey for our TFC platform, working with NEP’s product and engineering teams. The platform is used intensively for broadcast critical, time sensitive operations, with users demanding the highest level of interaction and operational resiliency. You will facilitate workshops, create user journeys, challenge interface paradigms, process feedback and work intensively with cross-functional leaders to create the best possible experience, while working on an advanced design system with the UX/UI team, supervised by the UX Lead.

Your technical proficiency allows you to navigate complex digital media domains. You promote established standards while driving relentlessly towards quality results. You know how to create engagement and challenge conventional notions in an established industry. You are naturally curious and invest yourself to master your domain. You are an autonomous agent and channel concise and timely information to internal and external parties. You have excellent persuasion skills to balance the concerns and interests of all stakeholders, and you know how to get buy-in, commitment and sign-offs.

As a UX Designer, your day-to-day is never the same. You will organize deep dives to understand the domain and usage extensively, and you will facilitate the information required from prototypes to user flows.

  • Facilitate conversation between engineers and product with a diverse UX toolbox;

  • Collaborate with the UI designer to turn your ideas to pixel perfect designs;

  • Create design assets (together with the UI Designer) and UX patterns for the design system in Figma and Storybook;

  • Organize workshops with international, cross-functional teams to develop concepts into comprehensive UX design assets and implementation guidelines;

  • Ensure the quality of the software delivery, where the output needs to be usable and consistent with the brand guidelines;

  • Support product development teams through the stages of agile development;

  • Support User Acceptance Testing for system releases;

  • Be available to product development teams to explain UX conflicts.

Your Profile

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a UX Designer or Interaction Designer supporting product development teams in the definition and delivery of business-critical software platforms;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to partner with product, engineering and operational users to define and document their current and future UX challenges;

  • Expertise in eliciting and documenting UX assets through use cases, user stories, and other means such as diagrams, workshops, wireframes or prototypes;

  • Analytical and critical, relentless in understanding the foundation of any given obstacle;

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills to convey your message, and ability to present;

  • Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical teams;

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think outside-of-the-box when assessing possible solutions for the product, operations or technology teams;

  • Experience working with engineering resources on project delivery from a quality standpoint;

  • Ability to lead when necessary;

  • Experience with agile software development and associated tools and processes;

  • Media or entertainment industry experience preferred;
